Overview

MyXReel ("we", "our", "us") provides a Chrome browser extension ("MyXReel Sync") and a web application at myxreel.com (collectively, the "Service"). This policy explains what data we access, how we use it, and how we protect it.

What Data We Access

The MyXReel Sync extension accesses the following data from your X (formerly Twitter) account:

• Session cookies (auth_token, ct0) — used solely to authenticate requests to X on your behalf. These are never transmitted to our servers or any third party.
• Your liked, retweeted, and bookmarked posts — the extension reads your X activity to identify posts containing video content.
• Video metadata — for posts containing videos, we extract: video URL, thumbnail URL, author username, tweet text, duration, and aspect ratio.

What Data We Store

Video metadata from your synced posts is stored in our database (hosted on Supabase) and associated with your MyXReel account. This includes:

• Video URLs (hosted by X, not by us)
• Thumbnail URLs
• Author usernames and tweet text snippets
• Video dimensions and duration
• Which source the video came from (like, retweet, or bookmark)

We do not store or transmit your X session cookies, password, or any credentials. We do not download or host video files — we only store links to videos hosted on X's servers.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively to:

• Display your synced videos in the MyXReel web player
• Track your playback preferences (favorites, play count)
• Manage your subscription and account

We do not sell, share, or provide your data to any third party. We do not use your data for advertising, analytics beyond basic service operation, or training AI models.

Data Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Our database uses Row Level Security (RLS) to ensure users can only access their own data. Authentication is handled via Supabase Auth with magic link (passwordless) login.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time through the Settings page. Upon account deletion, all stored video metadata, playback history, and profile data is permanently removed.

Children's Privacy

MyXReel is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
